APES (Associação Portuguesa de Economia da Saúde) and AES (Asociación de Economía de la Salud) —building on the successful joint experience of the Virtual Early Career Research Seminar Series (VECR) in 2020— are pleased to invite submissions to the 1st Iberian Early-Career Research Meeting in Health Economics.
Objectives
- Present ongoing research in health economics
- Develop skills in clear, focused research presentation under time constraints
- Gain experience in discussing and providing constructive feedback on peers’ work
- Foster cross-institutional and cross-country academic networks
Format
- Six short presentations (3 APES, 3 AES).
- 10 minutes per presentation (maximum 12 slides) + 5 minutes discussion
- Language: English.
- Presenters: PhD students / early-career researchers(* ECRs)
- (*) ECRs (for this call):
- PhD candidates.
- Early-career researchers (within 5 years of completing their PhD).
- Master's students.
- Research assistants (with a maximum of 5 years' experience since their start date)".

- Maximum length: 300 words.
- Structure:
- Objective.
- Methodology.
- Previous results (if available).
- Expected impact (policy, practice, or society).
- Up to 4 keywords.
Selection process
- Abstracts will be reviewed and selected by a joint APES-AES scientific committee
- Notification of decision: by 5 March
Additional requirements
If selected, presenters must propose a discussant from a different institution. You can volunteer to be a discussant whether you submit an abstract or not, using the same form.
