César Hernández

Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the Complutense University of Madrid (1987).

Doctor of Medicine from the same university (1996).

Specialist in Rheumatology at the Hospital Clínico San Carlos in Madrid.

He has worked at the Hospital Clínico San Carlos in Madrid, carrying out clinical, teaching and research work in the field of rheumatology.

For three years (2002–2005) he held the post of Deputy Medical Director at this centre.

From 2009 to 2022, he worked at the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products, holding the post of Head of the Department of Medicines for Human Use.

Since September 2022, he has been Director-General of the Common Portfolio of Services of the National Health System and Pharmacy.
