As is tradition, at AES we take advantage of these days to organise the AES Race, a healthy activity that also serves to support a charitable cause.
Last year, despite not being able to run together, we wanted to continue with this activity by running a virtual race and allocating the proceeds to the Menudos Corazones Foundation. In the next edition, in which we will finally get to meet up in person once again, we want to maintain our collaboration with Menudos Corazones to help and accompany children and young people with congenital heart disease in the best way we know how.
The money raised with the registrations for the AES race will go to Menudos Corazones. There is also the option to purchase a t-shirt from the Foundation itself (we recommend going up a size). In addition to helping raise more funds, it will help runners to be easily identified during the race.
This year's CarrerAES race has an original format and will take place on Tuesday, June 14, in the late afternoon and after the workshop. It will be held at the San Francisco university campus of the University of Zaragoza, and its surrounding area. This year's race is original because runners will be organised into two groups according to their level and, after a joint warm-up, they will leave for the Parque Grande José Antonio Labordeta, accompanied by a coach. There they will be able to enjoy an entertaining guided tour of this well-known and pleasant space in the city of Zaragoza. Back on campus, a competitive 1-mile race will be held at the sports arena. Finally, after announcing the winners of each group, there will be a stretching session and seasonal, local fruit will be given out to help athletes recover and regain their strength. Don't forget to bring your water bottle and CamelBak to fill it with water from the fountain!
