Laura Bojke is Professor of Health Economics at the Centre for Health Economics, University of York, UK, leading the economic evaluation activities across the department. She has a national and international research profile in the fields of health technology assessment (HTA) and public health, focusing on engaging and working with policy makers to generate research of direct relevance to the healthcare and public health providers, on issues that are likely to have a significant impact on the health of citizens.
Through her work in public health, she has led on evaluations that span across climate change, the natural environment and health, including BiB Breathes, to evaluate the health, air quality and economic impacts of Bradford’s Clean Air Plan, including a clean air zone. She previously worked with the Sustainable Development Unit to generate carbon footprint costs for integration into technology appraisals processes in the UK NHS, and is the current chair of the World Health Organization (WHO) Advisory Group on Economics for Environment, Climate Change, and Health (TAG-EconECH).
